Richard Allen Miller

Richard Allen Miller (Rick), 69, of Amherst, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 in Lubbock.

He was born March 25, 1953 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Joe Allen Miller and Ruby Nell (Carlock) Miller.

Rick attended Amherst High School and graduated with the class of 1971. He married Rebecca Cook on October 17, 1975 in Amherst. They owned and operated Miller Transportation and he spent countless hours on the road hauling loads. When he wasn't on the road, he could often be found working on his trucks. He enjoyed camping trips, riding his Harley, and restoring old cars. He loved working but his greatest blessing was his family and being 'Papa' to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Miller of Amherst; a daughter, Jennifer Bellar and husband, JJ of Littlefield; two sons, Russell Miller and wife, Tysha of Littlefield and Richard Miller and wife, Courtney of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Teagan Miller, Tayte Miller, Kendall Miller, Tinslee Miller, Branson Bellar, Hayden Bellar, Karsyn Miller and Maceyn Bellar; his father, Joe Miller of Amherst; a sister, Leesa Dunn of Amherst; two brothers, Randy Miller and wife, Jan of Amherst and Stanley Miller and wife, Jaclyn of Amherst; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Nell Miller. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Amherst. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
