REV. WOODY JACKSON

Rev. Woody Jackson passed away on April 18, 2024 in Denton, Texas at the age of 91.

Woody was born on April 27, 1932 in Olton, Texas Lamb County to, S. L. Jackson and Betty Clements Jackson.

He graduated, from Muleshoe high school in Muleshoe, Texas after which he joined the Marine Corp and served as a decorated Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. He loved his Country and served it proudly.

After his Marine Corp service he married Patsy Carol Boone in 1953 till 2001. He received a Science degree from Texas Tech University and with his degree, he worked for the Borden Milk Company in Lubbock and Tyler, Texas.

In 1966 he was called into the service of the Lord as a Baptist minister, serving as pastor to to many churches. He was also a minister to nursing home and homebound residents as part of the staff at First Baptist Plano. Woody was as a pastor for 30 years, in which he touched thousands of lives. In 2004, Woody met and married Doris Jean.

His Service was held at First Baptist Church in Denton, Tx. on Thursday, Apirl 25, 2024. Burial was on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery Dallas, Tx.
