PEGGY COOK BALES
Peggy Cook Bales, 86, of Littlefield passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 in Lubbock. She was born May 2, 1933 in Littlefield to James “Jeff” Cook and Inez Cook.
Peggy married Lib Bales March 20, 1953 in Amherst. She was a member of the Church of Christ and taught Bible classes for many years. She was an active Littlefield 4H Leader, and member of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, and was chairman of the Lamb County Sesquicentennial Organization. Peggy enjoyed doing crafts and gardening.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Pam Maxwell and husband, Freddie of Sudan; two grandsons, Aaron Maxwell and wife, Debbi of Abilene and Evan Maxwell and wife, Ashley of Amherst; four greatgrandchildren, Karis Maxwell, Ethan Maxwell, Bentley Maxwell, and Blakely Maxwell; three sisters, Mary Jo McCurry, Gini Coffman, and Angie Sawyer all of Littlefield; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lib Bales Feb. 8, 1998; a son, Randy Bales; two sisters, Viola Gosdin and Maxine Tunnell; two brothers, Claude Cook and James Cook; and her parents.
Celebration of life services were held Monday afternoon, Aug. 5, 2019 at Sudan Church of Christ in Sudan with Terry Wilson officiating. A family interment will preceeded church services at Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Littlefield EMS, Sudan EMS and Amherst EMS.
