Matthew Garcia, 44, of Olton, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, in Lubbock, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, in Olton. Interment with military honors will follow at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, from 12 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.
Matthew was born in Newton, KS, to Salomon and Dorothy (Ellis) Garcia, on Sept. 18, 1978. He graduated from Olton High School in 1998. After joining the United States Army, in 1999, Matthew served at Ft. Wainwright, in Alaska, until 2002. He married Annabelle Davis, on Feb. 13, 2003, in Olton. Matthew was an avid gun and sportsman enthusiast. He was also a talented musician and artist. He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, remodeling and repair work, and gardening.
