MARY ZOE OWENS

Mary Zoe Renfro (Cowen) Owens passed away on April 25, 2024 at home. She was born February 11, 1935, in Borger, Texas to Jeff and Clara Sue Renfro. She married Robert Clayton Cowen, on December 26, 1952. She met and married her second husband, Fred G. Owens, on June 12, 1975.

She graduated from Littlefield High School. Mary Zoe was a majorette in the L.H.S. band. She worked at several of the gins in the area and for a local finance company. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, fishing, and bowling. She enjoyed traveling, painting, working in the yard, and making handmade beaded stockings. Mary Zoe was a very artistic and crafty lady. She was faithful and active at First Baptist Church for 70 plus years. She enjoyed Sunday School Class, being a part of a Bible teaching Church and especially Pastor Tanner Wilson.

Mary Zoe’s wishes were to be cremated and no service to follow. The family will get together to celebrate their mom and Nannie’s life privately. If you wish to do a memorial you can donate to First Baptist Church in Littlefield, or your favorite charity.
