MARY HELEN GOHLKE

Mary Helen Gohlke passed away on August 19, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born on April 7, 1931, in Littlefield, TX, to E.C. Hill and Esther Goertz Hill.

Mary Helen made an indelible impact in her community. She founded and taught at St. John’s Lutheran Church’s preschool in Lariat, TX, where she was a devout member.

Mary Helen was involved in making Braille Bibles for the blind. She was an active member of the local garden club. She canned her own food, ground wheat for bread, and made homemade jellies and jams. She enjoyed helping on the family farm. Mary Helen was a skilled seamstress.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2023, at Littlefield Memorial Park. Funeral Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Lariat, Texas at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023.
