Tom Anderson, 83, of Lubbock, formerly of Littlefield, went to be with Jesus Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at his home. He was born Jan. 17, 1938 in Anton, TX to Clarence and Ruby (McCarty) Anderson.

Tom graduated from Spade High School in 1956. He married the love of his life, Mary Geneta Oliver May 25, 1957 in Littlefield. He enjoyed growing things, like his vegetable garden and flowers. He loved birds and always kept full bird feeders, and he raised canaries and white doves for many years. Most of all, Tom loved the Lord told everyone he met about Jesus. He led several of his grandchildren to Christ and impacted many lives during his time serving as a youth leader and adult and teenage Sunday School teacher for over 20 years. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Lubbock.

Tom is survived by his wife of 65 years, Geneta Anderson of Lubbock; two daughters, Kay Wright and husband, Jim of Throckmorton, TX and Cindy Ceballos and husband, David of Santiago, Panama; twelve grandchildren, Heather Hartley and husband, Ben of Littlefield, Justin Speck and wife, Misty of Wolfforth, Amber Pinner of Frederick, OK, Elizabeth Pinner of Illinois, Tanji Williams of St. Thomas, USVI, Randall Williams and wife, Amanda of Wolfforth, Sasha Ceballos of Austin, Michael Ceballos of San Diego, CA, Sophia Ceballos of Ft. Worth, Gabriel Ceballos of Austin, Cliff Wright and wife, Rachael of College Station and Jinna Hodgkins and husband, Jered of Boyd, TX; nineteen great-grand-children; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Judith Renae Pinner; a grandson, Robbie Pinner; two brothers, Bud Anderson and Marion Anderson; and two sisters, Boyce Carter and Margie Lea Tippett.

Celebration of Life Services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Church in Lubbock (4402 40th Street) with Mike Gilbert officiating. Interment followed in Anton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Ben Hartley, Seth Hartley, Jett Hartley, Justin Speck, Landon Speck, Travis Anderson and Travis Pinner. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4400 N Big Spring St. C32, Midland TX 79705.
