Ricardo Villanueva, Jr., 46, of Littlefield, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born January 7, 1978 in Andrews, Texas to Ricardo, Sr. and Marcella Villanueva. He married Lisa Vargas on September 12, 1998 in Littlefield, Texas.
Ricky worked for Hearing Technologies Inc. and COSTCO as a hearing instrument fitter and dispenser from 2010-2019. He was a jack-of-all trades, working as an auto body shop technician, janitor, oil technician, volunteer firefighter, along with too many more to mention.
He liked to hunt and to be outdoors. He enjoyed barbecuing and spending time with his family. Rick enjoyed the company of his spiritual family from his congregation and surrounding congregations. Although he was limited in what he could do, he enjoyed speaking to everyone about his faith and hope for the future. For those who knew Ricky, he was a sour patch kid. Rick was brutally honest, but also sweet, loving, and caring. He didn't mind saying what was on his mind, but you always knew that he meant it in a loving way. Rick was a Jehovah's Witness, and proudly served as a Ministerial Servant. He will be remembered for his big heart, his quick comebacks, and ALWAYS having a great attitude despite all his difficulties, and his love for all of his family and friends.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Lisa Villanueva of Littlefield, Texas; a daughter, Alyssa Villanueva of Littlefield, Texas; two brothers, Luis Villanueva and wife, Margaret of Littlefield, Texas, and Vincent Villanueva and wife, Brittany of Littlefield, Texas; a sister, Tori Villanueva of Littlefield, Texas; his mother, Marcella Villanueva of Littlefield, Texas; a grandmother, Alicia Villanueva of Littlefield, Texas; grandparents, Emilio and Rosario Pena of San Antonio, Texas; in-laws, Jesse Sr. and Dora Vargas of Littlefield, Texas; a brother in-law, Jesse Vargas, Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas; three nephews, Vince Villanueva, Gavin Villanueva, and Presley ("P" Dog) Villanueva; and a niece, Natalie Villanueva.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ricardo Villanueva; a grandfather, Luis Villanueva; and a sister in-law, Naomi Vargas.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Littlefield, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
