Judy Hoppe Ricks, 80, of Weatherford, Oklahoma, formerly of Littlefield, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 in Weatherford. She was born September 30, 1941 in Littlefield to Carl and Willie Dell (Parker) Hoppe.
Judy married Billy Dwayne Ricks April 12, 1962 in Levelland, Texas. The couple enjoyed traveling to the mountains, especially in Colorado. They also loved square dancing and were members of the Circle A Square Dancing Club when they lived in Texas. When her children were growing up, Judy was a dedicated mom, and volunteered with the Girl Scouts and VBS. She loved to shop, especially for shoes, and liked browsing in curio stores when they were on vacation. She was a talented seamstress and artist, loved to paint, sew and do arts and crafts. Judy was an excellent cook. She loved her family more than anything and was a wonderful “Granny” to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Billy Ricks of Weatherford, OK; four children, April Willis of Amarillo, Debra Ricks and partner, Todd Harrell, Dwayne Ricks and wife, Julie and Deanna Sims and partner, Chance Byers, all of Weatherford; a sister, Patsy Hooley of Godley, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Brady, Jeremy, Daniel, Corey, Kristin, Sarah, Amber, and Brooke; and numerous great grand-children and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Carlos Hoppe and Ernest Hoppe; a sister, Katie Mae Bowers; and a stepson, David Ricks.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Littlefield Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
