Joyce Ray, 93, of Littlefield passed from this life Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Library Of Legacies in Littlefield, following a brief illness. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Sunset Avenue Baptist in Littlefield with Brother Bryant Sears officiating. Burial will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park, with arrangements under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Joyce was born August 3, 1930 in Chalk, Texas, in Cottle County, to Brady and Alba Fields. She moved to Littlefield in 1941 and married CV Ray, Jr. on December 16, 1948. Following his death, she married Otis Dewees.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Brady and Alba Fields; five brothers, Lewis, Milam, Waylon, Dewey Joe, and Dale Fields; husband, CV Ray, Jr. and Otis Dewees.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Ray, Kenneth Ray and wife, Sandy and Van Ray and wife, Ann, all of Littlefield; seven grandchildren, Amie Brogden (Mike) of Levelland, Neal Ray (Jennifer) of Littlefield, Michelle Martinez (Chris) of Lubbock, Kyle Ray (Stormy) of Amarillo, Andrea Rangel (Brad) of Lubbock, Amy Stephens (Brandon) of Lubbock, and Jill Vandepol (John) of Littlefield; twenty-two great grandkids; and a special friend of 64 years Naomi Rountree of Littlefield.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Fields, Neal Ray, Kyle Ray, Mike Brogden, Brad Rangel, and Chris Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons. The family suggests memorials be made to Sunset Avenue Baptist Church in Littlefield, (710 N. Sunset Ave, Littlefield TX 79339).
