April 14, 1935 ~ July 5, 2025
On July 5, 2025, we lost a good man. Johnny Cunningham left this earth to join his family and friends who passed before him. Johnny was born April 14, 1935, in Austin, Texas, to T.J. & Frieda Cunningham.
His family moved to Littlefield in 1939. Johnny attended Littlefield schools.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Tommy Cunningham and Bobby Cunningham; five sisters, Lillian Robison, Bettye Carr, Doris Martens, Arlene Grigsby, and Winnie Crowe.
Those left to celebrate his life are Margaret Stone of Rockwall, TX, Jane Parker of Lebanon, TN and Ann Carson of Sudan, TX, and numerous neices and nephews.
Before leaving Littlefield, Johnny worked as a ginner at the Spade Gin. Later, Johnny moved to Eureka, NV, and worked in Diamond Valley, where he met and married Dallas Venturino in 1966. He lived in Eureka a short time before moving to Elko, NV, where he was a mechanic, and after completing further education, he went to work at Nevada Youth Training Center as a vocational instructor He retired after 40 years, he and Dallas moved to Fallon, NV.
He is survived by his wife, Dallas; daughter, Codie Sanders and husband, Scott of Brandon, MS; son, Justin Cunningham and wife, Lacey of Fernley, NV; and granddaughter, Dayton Sanders of Brandon, MS.
In April 2025, Johnny celebrated his 90th birthday with friends and family. He touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew him.
