Deloris Ann Bryant

April 13, 1941 ~ Jan. 11, 2024

Deloris Ann Bryant was welcomed into heaven on January 11, 2024. She was born in Morton, Texas on April 13, 1941, to Bryant Douglas (Gabby) and Hazel Armour. She married Tommy Bryant on December 8, 1956 in Clovis, New Mexico. They were married 45 years before his passing in 2001.

Tommy and Deloris were blessed with seven children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Deloris was a loving mother and wife who worked outside the home. She worked for many years as a nurse for Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, now known as Covenant. Never one to turn away from hard tasks she went back to school, got her GED and received her nursing degree at 50 years of age. She also worked at American Cotton Growers in Littlefield for many years. Deloris was a jack of all trades. There was nothing she couldn't do and she was very creative. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, mending dolls, painting and spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Bryant; father, Bryant Douglas (Gabby) Armour; mother, Hazel Armour; daughter, Vickie Whitten; and sister, Karen Franklin.

Deloris leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Ricky Bryant of Gardendale, Jeff Bryant (Kelly) of Gardendale, Patti Bennett of Shallowater, Donald Bryant of Big Spring, Kayla Miller (Greg) of Odessa and Mark Bryant of Eufaula, OK; step-sons, Tommy Joe Bryant and Billy Wayne Bryant (Bonnie); brother, Charles Armour (Joyce) of Nashville, TN; sisters, Jo Tate (Charles) of Anton and Charlotte (Mike) Sanders of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Tommy (Michelle) Bryant, Jeremy (Heather) Bryant, Shawn (Jilian) Bryant, Shalyn (Matt) Bryant, Lacy (Joe) Billeiter, Wade (Hannah) Bryant, Jarrett (Connie) Conner, Amber (Rusty) Maddox, Gregory Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Alixandrea Bryant, Jherika Bryant, Tom Bryant, Bethany Bryant, Caitlynn Bryant and Cassi Bryant; and great grandchildren Dylan, Kate, Cy, Trinity, Jahnia, Cade, Hagen, Jacelyn, Keegan, Kenleigh, Ryker, and Reagan.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and long time friends.

Her family would like to express a special thank you to her precious sister, Jo. Aunt Jo took care of mother for many years. Her sacrifice and love will never be forgotten. We cannot thank her enough for all that she has done for mother's final years. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Lubbock Health Care Center for the excellent job of taking care of her. She spoke highly of so many there and we are truly grateful. The staff treated mother like their own and for that we are thankful.

In leiu of flowers the family would suggest memorials be made to the Shallowater Fire Department, PO Box 204, Shallowater, TX 79363.

A visitation will occur Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel with a celebration of life service for Deloris beginning at 2:00. A graveside committal servicewill follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
