Carol Jean Harmon, 69, passed away on December 16, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on March 12, 1954, in Hobbs, New Mexico to Lloyd and Jean White. At age two, she and her family moved to Littlefield, Texas, and Carol always proudly claimed, "I tried to be a Texan as fast as I could!" She graduated from Littlefield High School in 1972, and then attended Texas Tech University, graduating in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work.

In 1976, Carol married the love of her life, Richard "Kim" Harmon. Together, Kim and Carol raised two children in Amherst, Texas, where they spent their days farming with their neighbors, serving their community, and raising their children in the wisdom and admonition of the Lord. Carol loved volunteering through PTA, enjoyed family fishing trips and following all of her children's sporting events.

Additionally, Carol went on to work in the social services field in many capacities as a social worker in long-term care facilities. She had a big heart and unique talent in caring and advocating for the aged and disabled, and retired after 18 years working for the State of Texas in June 2023.

Carol is preceded in death by her father, Lloyd White, and husband, Kim Harmon.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Jean White of Littlefield; daughter, Casey Harmon, of Lubbock; son, Ross Harmon, and wife, Allison of Roseburg, Oregon and their four children, Naomi, Eden, Samuel and Judah. She is also survived by her brother, Darold White and wife, Frances of Lubbock, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at Monterey Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Hope Lodge of Lubbock, a service of the American Cancer Society.
