Betty Ellis Torres, 55, of Littlefield, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 at her home. She was born July 7, 1965 in Olton, TX to Joe Cruz Ellis and Betty (Roger) Ellis.

Betty married Pat Tones on Jan. 12, 1996 in Littlefield. She loved her husband and her family and spending time with them. She was a loving “YaYa” to her grandchildren, and always supported her daughters and grandchildren, and even served as a Band Parent for several years. Betty was a hard worker who worked at American Cotton Growers for 25 years before the plant closed, then started at BASF and was there for 7 years. She made many friends over the years and loved to help people. Her family all looked to her for advice and she was a great listener. Betty was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. She was a die hard 49’ers fan, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching “Dr Pol” and loved her dog, Sadie.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Savannah Ellis and Danny Marquez of Littlefield and Alibi Tones of Littlefield; three grandchildren, Mallory Marquez, Melany Marquez and JD Marquez; six sisters, Francis Jaso of San Angelo, Lupe Ellis of Lubbock, Linda Gonzalez of Lubbock, Eva Ellis ofAmarillo, Rita Gonzalez of Lubbock, and Betty Stella Jaso of Hereford; four brothers, Joe Cruz of Hereford, Adam Ellis of Lubbock, David Ellis of Amarillo, and JJ Jaso ofAmarillo; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Waiting for her in Heaven was her husband, Pat, who passed away in March of 2019; her parents; two sisters, Annice Cardanes and Dorthy Garcia; and a brother, Elias Ellis.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with Father Brian Wood officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Garcia, Gregory Garcia, Christian Martinez, Adam Ellis, JJ Jaso, Joe Cruz Ellis III, and JD Marquez. Prayer services will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
