Linda Clayton

Linda Clayton, 85, of Littlefield, Texas entered eternal life on May 1, 2026. She was born on May 29, 1940, in Paducah, Texas to Eldridge Lee and Elva Ellen Latimer.

Linda graduated from Littlefield High School with the Class of 1958. She married the love of her life, Johnny Clayton, on November 15, 1958, in Littlefield. Together, they created a legacy with their three children and generations that followed. Linda loved her family deeplyespecially her grandchildren. Being a 'Baba' was one of her greatest joys in life. She spent countless hours rocking her grandchildren, and her home was always a place they loved to be, which was full of laughter, crafts, and popsicles. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, especially blue bonnets. Linda also was an avid bird watcher, especially loved hummingbirds, and was a dog lover.

Linda and John loved fishing and loved taking their family to their lake house at Lake Buchanan and cherished the memories they all made there over the years. She was a talented artist who loved painting, taking photos and documenting memories and she valued her heritage and genealogy. She was an incredible cook and feeding her family brought her joy. More than anything, she loved God deeply and had a strong faith. She was raised in the Church of Christ and loved singing hymns and had a beautiful voice.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Shauna Roper of Shallowater, Texas, Jim Clayton and Sondra of Littlefield, Texas, and Dana Gregory and Bryan of Littlefield, Texas; ten grandchildren, James Roper and wife, Joanie of Roanoke, Texas, Mandy Gragg and husband, Chad of Lubbock, Texas, Brittany Villanueva and husband, Vinnie of Anton, Texas, Katie Rutter of Lubbock, Texas, Kyle Clayton and wife, Brittany of Lubbock, Texas, Sarah Roper of Shallowater, Texas, Joshua Gregory and wife, Samantha of Ropesville, Texas, Jessica Bloom and husband, Tanner of New Home, Texas, Alyssa Arnona and husband, Dominic of Shallowater, Texas, and Seth Clayton and wife, Hope of Weatherford, Texas; thirteen great-grandchildren, Avery Gragg, Abby Gragg, Vince Villanueva, Gavin Villanueva, Shalynn Shaffer, Reese Gregory, Briar Gregory, Rainey Bloom, Wilder Bloom, and Wells Bloom, Luka Arnona, Banner Arnona, and Elora Clayton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, 'Johnny' Marvin Clayton, III; both parents, Eldridge Lee Latimer and Elva Ellen Latimer; and a brother, Jonny Latimer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield, Texas with Jim Harris officating. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment will be in Littlefield Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Vinnie Villanueva, Kyle Clayton, Josh Gregory, Tanner Bloom, Seth Clayton, Dominic Arnona, Vince Villanueva, and Gavin Villanueva. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Gragg and James Roper.

Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
