In Loving Memory Of  Linda Charlton

March 6, 1949 ~ March 5, 2024

Linda Charlton, lifelong resident of Littlefield, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 5, 2024. Linda was born to Joe and Fern Gilbert on March 6, 1949 in Amherst, Texas.

She graduated from Littlefield High School with the class of 1967. She married John Charlton on August 4, 1971. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage and had two daughters, Jennifer and Jackelyn. Linda served as the Lamb County Tax Assessor-Collector for 28 years where she enjoyed cherished friendships with many members of the community. Linda was involved in the Xi Nu Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, 'We, the Women', and Rotary Club. For years, she enjoyed playing Mahjong with her friends, taking care of her dogs, Mia and Murphy, and cooking ol' fashioned southern food for her family. She was also a member of First Baptist Church for 42 years where she was baptized April 11, 1982. She treasured each and every person in her family, and absolutely loved being Mimi to her grandchildren. She is remembered for her kind and loving spirit and always having the perfect outfit for every occasion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Oleda Gilbert; her brothers, Shelby Gilbert and Joe Gilbert; and her son-inlaw, Brian Malone.

She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Jennifer Bundy and son-in-law, Ken of Lubbock; daughter, Jackie Malone of Lubbock; her grandson, McKenan Bundy of Fairfax, Virginia; granddaughter, Madison Wernsman and her husband, Adam of Wichita Falls; grandson, McKellan Bundy and his wife, Jaycee of Wichita Falls; grandsons, Hayden and Hudson Malone of Lubbock; her sister, Janna Smith of Brownwood; brother, Zane Gilbert of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Fran Gilbert of Houston; and numerous nephews and nieces, whom she loved dearly.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. In lieu of flowers, consider making a contribution to the American Cancer Society or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
