LaShonda 'Shonda' Marie Castillo, 43, of Littlefield went to be with Jesus on Saturday, December 17, 2022 in Littlefield. She was born May 24, 1979 in Amherst.

Shonda attended Spade High School and then transferred to Littlefield her Junior year. She graduated from Littlefield High School with the Class of 1997. She was a Kindergarten teacher for Littlefield ISD and she loved her students like her own. Shonda had a true calling for teaching, and she loved it. She was also active in the Children's Ministry at Trinity Church where she was a member. Children gave her the greatest joy, whether it was her own kids, her school kids or her church kids. She married Marcelino Castillo on March 30, 2013 in Littlefield at Trinity Church. Shonda was a strong woman of faith and had a passion for the Lord that she shared with everyone around her. She was a strong prayer warrior, a devoted wife, a loving mother and a loyal friend. She was full of life, and a kind spirited woman who never met a stranger. Shonda had a sweet smile, and you rarely saw her without it. In her spare time she enjoyed singing, reading, sewing, watching movies and cooking. She was an excellent cook, an avid shopper and she loved Christmas. Above all else, she loved her Lord, and her family.

She is survived by her husband, Marcelino Castillo of Littlefield; her four children, Coldon Ryan Land of Lubbock, Maegan Rashae Land of Lubbock, Lucas Ray Castillo of Littlefield and Leah RaeAnn Castillo of Littlefield; her mother, Debbie Scott of Littlefield; her father, Randy Wade of Whitharral; a sister, LaShayla Faye Hinojosa and husband, Robert of Littlefield; half-sister, Dakota Rain "Babe" Bradley and husband, Cody of Tampa, Florida; nieces and nephews, Allie Hinojosa, Alizae Hinojosa, Liam Bradley and Natalie Castillo; and numerous extended family members, friends, church family and colleagues.
