In Loving Memory Of Judy Trotter

Judy Trotter, 83, of Littlefield, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, in Littlefield. She was born on October 2, 1941, in Littlefield to Horace and Mary Louise Merrifield.
Not only did she graduate from Littlefield High School, but she then went on to be a dedicated employee of Littlefield ISD for twenty-six years. Judy married Stephen Douglas Butler at the First Baptist Church in Littlefield. She spent her life with him until November 13, 2007, when he was then called to be with the Lord. Judy was fortunate in her life and later married Burl 'Bruce' Trotter on February 28, 2017. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church. Judy will be most remembered for being a sweet and kind woman. It was rare to see her without a smile on her face. One of her finest talents was cooking. Her family and friends did not stray away from the meals she prepared for them. Additionally, Judy enjoyed hosting family get togethers. With great delight, she loved playing cards and dominoes. Her talents kept her close to her family, which gave her peace and filled her heart with love. Those who knew Judy knew that she loved to shop. She also loved sports. Moreover, she was an avid Texas Tech and Littlefield Wildcat fan. Judy enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs play because Patrick Mahomes was a former Texas Tech player. Amongst her kind character, Judy was a fearless woman. She would ride motorcycles with her sons and would even snow ski, ride snowmobiles, go camping, and loved to fish. Judy was a rare find and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, no matter the activity. She especially loved traveling to Alaska. The world had a lot to offer Judy, and she enjoyed every bit of it.
Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Burl 'Bruce' Trotter; two sons, Todd Butler and wife, Michelle of Longview, Texas, and Jason Butler and wife, Laura of Littlefield, Texas; two step-sons, Scott Trotter and wife, Lorie of Florida, Russell Trotter and wife, Lynn of Dallas, Texas; a two brothers, Jimmy Merrifield of Littlefield, Texas, and Royce Merrifield and wife, Rhesa of Littlefield, Texas; eight grandchildren, De'Lynn Butler of Lubbock, Texas, Rhett Butler and wife, Julie of Lovington, New Mexico, Brighton Butler of Amarillo, Texas, and Allison White and husband, Dillon of Lubbock, Texas, Justin Farr of Gainesville, Texas, and Carson Farr of Lubbock, Texas; two great grandchildren, Wade White of Lubbock, Texas, and Hallie White of Lubbock, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, 'Horace' and Mary 'Louise' Merrifield; her sister, Marilyn Holly; and husband, Stephen Douglas Butler. Funeral service for Judy were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Littlefield, Texas with Adam Harvey and Pastor Tanner Wilson officiating. Interment followed in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Chris Merrifield, Chad Merrifield, Rob Holly, Alan Holly, Adam Harvey, Clint Hutcheson, Alise Hutcheson, Mitch Merrifield, and Josh Merrifield.
