John Lenual Norwood passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022.
He was born February 18, 1949 to John and Oleta (Templeton) Norwood. Grandparents were Jim and Etta Templeton and John and Faye Norwood.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and two brothers ,James and Jerry.
He is survived by two stepchildren, Fawn Marie Baker Stevens and Michael Shane Lind; many cousins; and a GAGGLE of friends.
John worked with computers and marketing after graduation from Texas Tech. He moved to the Austin area after leaving Lubbock where he stayed for thirty years. He returned to Amherst to care for his mother and continued to live in the family home. Here he dedicated his life to serving the Lord. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amherst and served faithfully until his health declined. He always sat in the back to protect the congregation if the need arose. Johnny was a loyal friend to many. He and Spanky were instrumental for starting the Senior Meals Program in Amherst.
Memorial services were held Thursday afternoon, November 10, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Amherst.

Cremation arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
