John Elmer Kinnie, 75, of Sudan passed away on December 22, 2022. John was born in Lula, Oklahoma.

He moved from Santa Rosa, New Mexico in 1957 to Sudan, Texas, where he met his wife, Cheryl, and they married July 27, 1967. He worked at and retired from American Cotton Growers. He will be most remembered for being a musician who taught himself to play instruments by ear. He played the guitar beautifully. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandson, James Stair. He was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord. John was extremely unselfish and giving. He loved his family dearly and they always came first.

John was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Mildred Kinnie; his three brothers; and two of his sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his son, Jeffrey Kinnie of Sudan; his daughter, Kassie Stair and husband, Koy of Wolfforth; two grandchildren, James Stair and Lauren Stair of Wolfforth; two of his sisters, Becky Otwell of Muleshoe, and Debra Lee of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Sudan Church of Christ with Mike McDonald officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
