John Daniel Wilson, 72, of Amherst, TX, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, in Muleshoe, TX. He was born on Nov. 9, 1953, in Haltom City, TX to ‘Melvin’ Howard and ‘Janet’ Marie Wilson.
John married Kara Springer Wilson, on May 3, 1979, in Plainview, TX. He was a hardworking man. He was Chief of Police in Amherst, and in Crosbyton, TX. John dedicated 30 years of life to service in law enforcement, and he was also a mechanic. He also worked in Henderson County, as well as Tool, TX in his career within law enforcement. John and Kara moved to Littlefield, TX in 2006. John enjoyed hunting and camping.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; two daughters; one son-in-law; eight grandchildren; and two sisters.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister. Celebration of life service for John Daniel Wilson was held Tuesday morning, Nov. 18, 2025, in Grace Chapel in Hillcrest Funeral Home with Sid Hunt officiating.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, TX.
