In Loving Memory Of Joe Allen Miller

Joe Allen Miller, 92, of Amherst, died at home on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
He was born November 27, 1932, in Alanreed, Texas, and spent his early years between Arkansas and Texas. He worked in a factory in Indiana, and road construction in Louisiana before settling in Amherst in 1960. Joe married Nell Carlock on March 30,1952. They had four children and built a life in Amherst.
Joe was a business owner, mechanic, and a farmer. He served several years as Mayor of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Miller; his son, Rick Miller; granddaughter, Lyndsey; and son-in-law Bubba Dunn.
Survivors include daughter in-law, Becky Miller of Littlefield; Randy (Jan) Miller, Stanley (Jacquelyn) Miller and Leesa Dunn, all of Amherst; grandchildren, Jennifer (J.J.) Bellar, Russell (Tysha) Miller, Richard (Courtney) Miller, Curtis (Kelly) Miller, Dusty (Cec) Miller, Amanda (Jesus) Mata, Bonnie (J.J.) Johnson, Tori Miller, Aaron (Rachel) Miller, Brady (Christina) Miller, Jacey (Jay) Moulthrop, Abby (Tyler) Reed, and Joe (Eny) Dunn; and thirty-four great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Amherst Methodist Church on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with burial at Fairlawn Cemetery and a Masonic graveside service to follow.
Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
