James D. "Jim" McGee, 81, of Littlefield went to be with his Savior Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was born January 1, 1942 in Olney, Texas to James Ernest McGee and Emma (Petty) McGee.

Jim graduated from Littlefield High School, and then went on to further his education at South Plains College and Texas Tech University. He also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, from 1967-1970 and then continued to serve for two more years in the Army Reserves. He earned several accolades while in the military, and after his honorable discharge he was employed by the Veterans Administration. After his employment with the VA, Jim moved to Littlefield where he worked as an accountant for Littlefield Farmers Co-op, then VTS and lastly, he was employed by the City of Littlefield as a Code Enforcement Officer. Jim married Monica Phillips August 22, 1981 in Olton, Texas and the couple made their home in Littlefield. Their home was his piece of Heaven on Earth. He was an animal lover, four legged creatures were his best friends. He was a talented woodworker, artist and painter. Jim was a longtime supporter of Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Most of all, Jim was a Christian and he knew where is eternal home would be.

He is survived by his wife, Monica McGee of Littlefield; sisterin-law and brother-in-law, Michelle and Jay Macha of Levelland; nieces and nephews, Ashton Macha of Lubbock, Devan Friesen and husband, Johnny of Littlefield, Dalton Phillips stationed in Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho and Taylor Phillips of Beaumont and Evelyn York and husband, Bobby McCarty of El Cajon, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Trudy Ellen Roe; and a brother-in-law, Hoby Phillips.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday May 27, 2023 at Littlefield Memorial Park cemetery with Jay Macha and Mike Deloach officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to Littlefield EMS Volunteer Association (PO Box 1267, Littlefield, TX 79939). Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
