Hubert L. Gohlke, 94, of Farwell, Texas passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Farwell. He was born January 14, 1928 in Vernon, Texas to Herman and Christa (Hingst) Gohlke.

Hubert married Mary Helen Hill June 14, 1952 in Littlefield, Texas. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, as Strategic Air Command, stationed in Altus Oklahoma and Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, NM. I Ie was a fanner and continued to farm until he was 86. Hubert and his wis wise wife started the Life in Christ preschool program at St. John Lutheran Church in Lariat, which has grown into a successful academy that services Parmer County and the surrounding area. He was faithful in service to his church, serving as an Elder and as a groundskeeper for many years. He was a humble man who loved his fam.ily.

Hubert is survived by his wife, Mary Gohlke of Farwell; a son, Gerald Gohlke and wife, Jeanette of Littlefield; two daughters, Cheryl White and husband, Mike of Orange, Texas and Linda Askins and husband, David of Gunter, Texas; nine grandchildren, Shelley Thompson of Ashland, MO, Laura Gohlke of West Virginia, Matt Gohlke of Littlefield, Heather White ofBentonville,AR, Michael White of Arlington, VA, Connie Telschow of Plano, TX, Roy Askins of Edwardsville, IL, ChrystieAskins ofModesto, CAand Jordan Askins of Altus, OK; twenty grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Hobratschk ofLittlefield and Edith Bourland ofHouston; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.E. and Christa Gohlke; three brothers, Arthur, Eldon and Ernest Gohlke; and two sisters Mildred Twenhafel and Alice Bauer.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 4, 2022 at Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Lariat with Pastor Symm officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
