Church Service for Houston M. Black, age 94, of Sudan, TX, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Sudan with Mike Woods of Sudan and Willis Blair of Sudan officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery.

Houston died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 in Amherst, TX. He was born Oct. 31, 1924 in Ochiltree County, TX to Earl William and Margaret (Malone) Black. He married Minnie Belle Wells in Bula, TX in Apirl of 1947.

Houston served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a farmer and enjoyed his pets. Houston was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sudan.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie; his parents; a son, Donald Wesley Black; two sisters, Ellen Sullivan and Margaret Ruth; and one brother, Richard Black. Houston is survived by his two sons, William Houston Black and his wife, Carolyn of North Richland Hills, and Alan Lynn Black and his wife, Donna of Littlefield; his three daughters, Helen Louise Driskill and her husband, David of Amarillo, Barbara Ann Carroll and her husband, Jim of Knox City, and Dora Jean Hunter and her husband, Alfred of Anna; his sister, Nancy Ashford of Bellevue, WA; his brother, Kenneth Black of Odessa; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
