Harvy Richard Lacy, Jr. passed away on Saturday, July 29th, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 98.
He was born in Littlefield, Texas, in 1925 and raised in the South Plains during the Great Depression. He graduated from high school in Loop, Texas, where he met, Dorothy Blanche Benningfield.
Upon graduation, he and Dorothy married. Despite receiving a full- ride college scholarship, Harvy felt it was his duty during World War II to enlist in the US Army Air Forces. He served through the reconstruction of Japan.
After returning to the States, he, and his family moved to Lubbock. He worked in automotive parts and logistics, ultimately working as a logistics manager at Ford Motor Company for over 40 years before retiring. A deeply faithful man, he was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ.
He was extraordinary in every way, an impeccable role model, and a shining exemplar of the Greatest Generation. .
Funeral arrangements were handled through Sanders Funeral Home of Lubbock, and a graveside service for family was held at Resthaven Cemetery and Memorial Park.
