GOLDIE L. BARNETT

Goldie L. Barnett, age 89, of Coleman, TX, passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, at her residence under the care of her family and hospice. Funeral service were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman, with Pastor Craig Thames, of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services were entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Goldie Lee Royall on March 5, 1933, in Anson, TX to Frank James Royall and Eura Lee Isbell Royall. She grew up in Littlefield where she graduated from high school in 1950. On May 25, 1950, she married Wayne Barnett in Littlefield. After living in Littlefield for three years, they moved to Denver, CO for 18 months and then moved to Houston. While living in Houston, she attended Business College and Junior College. From 1963-2002, she worked with her husband in their gun repair shop in Houston. After retiring, they moved to Coleman and have lived here since that time. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and worked with the children’s department for many years. She was a devoted Girl Scout Leader and mentor to many young people.
