Gayle Lee McCoy, 91, of Spade went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He was born April 24, 1932 in Littlefield to C.B and Leone McCoy.

Gayle graduated from Spade High School. He met the love of his life, Lillie Mae Rankin, and from the simple wink of an eye, a true love story was born. The couple were married on October 25, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico, and were blessed to share 70 years together before her passing. Gayle was a dedicated family man. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and was active in attending their events. He loved taking his grandchildren to Sonic for a soda, and he truly loved spending time with his wife. Gayle and Lillie raised a garden and spent countless hours canning the fruits of their labor. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, and four-wheeling. He was a farmer for many years in Lamb County and owned and operated Spade Trucking. He was a Primitive Baptist minister for 40 years, serving in Levelland, Brownfield and Andrews. Gayle was a kind and positive man who was strong in his faith.

He is survived by his four children, Debra Hairston of Rockwall, Texas, Sherry Burchfield and husband, Jay of Spade, Randy McCoy and wife, Dinah of Littlefield and Tammy Doolittle and husband, Darwin of Levelland; grandchildren, Shane Hairston and wife, Kathryn of Midlothian, TX, Misty Walters and husband, Ted of Mesquite, TX, Macy Vuicich and husband, Jerod of Ropesville, TX, Marta Bettis and husband, Chris of Plano, TX, Madlyn Rees of Littlefield and Heather Burchfield of Lubbock; great grandchildren, Sydney, Samantha, Dalton, Raegan, Creed, Channing, Chadley, Zady, Zandy, Barrett, Blair and Allison; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Waiting for him in Heaven was his beloved wife, Lillie Mae McCoy who passed November 11, 2022; a grandson, Cody Doolittle; his parents; and a sister, Patsy Dawn Richardson.

Celebration of Life services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday April 5, 2024 at Grace Chapel. Interment followed in Littlefield Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
