In Loving Memory Of Gary Eugene Pickard, 61, a lifelong resident of Littlefield, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022.
He was born September 28, 1961 in Amherst, Texas to Raymond Eugene Pickard and Emily Jacops Pickard.
Gary married Pam Pierce November 29, 1985 in Littlefield. He was a hard worker and worked at Gebo's Farm and Ranch Supply for many years where he made many friends. He also worked at the City of Littlefield for 15 years, and most recently worked for South Plains Waste Services.
He was a good man with a kind and gentle spirit. Many would say he was a big teddy bear, and many people affectionately knew him as "Bubba". He could talk to anyone for hours and told the best stories. He was always cheerful and loved to make people laugh. You rarely saw him without a huge grin on his face. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved being a "PawPaw" to his grandchildren. Gary loved fishing, barbequing, and dirt track racing.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Pickard of Littlefield; two daughters, Kayla Pickard and fiancée, Ricki Ward of Littlefield and Sheridan Dancer and husband, Dameon of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Kaisee Redrick, Eli Yarbrough, Jai'da Yarbrough, Dontae Yarbrough, Abby Dancer and Hayden Applegate; mother, Emily Pickard of Littlefield; brother-in-law, Jimmy Pierce of Amherst; sister-in-law, Debbie Burnett of Hale Center; nieces and nephews, Kami Pickard, Joshua Pickard, Tommy Cartmell, Machelle Hoeg and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad; and two brothers, Jay Pickard and Chuck Pickard.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield with Brian Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Cain, Josh Villareal, Steven Gambrel, Landon Jacops, Scotty Gambrel, Matthew Thompson, Mike Ritchie, Brent Riley and Ricky Royall. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Pickard, Tommy Catmell, Ricki Ward, Terry Mullins, Nick LaDuke, Mack LaDuke, PJ Galvan, Randy Jacops and Lucky Frausto.
Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
