Francisco Vargas, also known as 'Frank' or "Pancho", 83, of Littlefield, TX, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was born June 29, 1940, in Crystal City, TX to Tomas and Belia Vargas. Francisco married Graciela Aguirre in 1959.

Francisco was a dedicated farmer and a hard worker. He was always ready to pick up his bajo sexto and play in the choir, displaying his passion for music. When he wasn't working the land, you could find him out in the garage, tinkering away. Francisco had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, he loved camping trips, fishing, and hunting. He took delight in whipping up batches of candy, popcorn balls, and pecan pies. Francisco cherished his family and found joy in spending time with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Francisco was a faithful member and a Cursillista at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield, Texas.

Francisco is survived by his wife, Graciela Vargas; a son, Jose Antonio (Herlinda) Vargas of Littlefield, Texas; a daughter, Mary Jane (Manuel) Rangel of Littlefield, Texas; two brothers, Rojelio Vargas of Plainview, Texas, and Arnulfo Vargas of Lubbock, Texas; a sister, Isaura Ybarra of Groesbeck, Texas; five grandchildren, Cecilia Rangel, Sara Rangel, Yulissa Rangel, Angel Rangel, and Trishtin Vargas; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Jeff Church officiating. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2024 at Grace Chapel in Hillcrest Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
