Evaristo Holguin, 82, of Olton, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, in Olton, TX. Rosary was said at Wednesday evening, Jan. 15, 2025, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, in Olton. Mass was celebrated at Thursday morning, Jan. 16, 2025, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Raymundo Manriquez, officiating. Interment followed at Olton Cemetery under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Evaristo was born Feb. 23, 1942, in Santa Maria, Durango, Mexico, to Erasmo and Antonia (Cerenil) Holguin. He moved to Olton from Mexico in 1974. In 1978, Evaristo married Ediberta Carranza, in Littlefield, TX. He worked at Olton Grain Coop and retired in 2007. Evaristo was a quiet man who enjoyed playing cards and dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and ten siblings. Survivors include his sons and their wife’s; a brother; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
