Eduvigen "Vickie" Zapata Montemayor, 91, went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2023. She was surrounded by her beloved children at Carillon. She was born January 16, 1932 in Realitos, Texas.

Vickie enjoyed playing dominoes, bingo, and poker. She loved music and dancing. She loved watching Mollie B's Polka Party. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan. She was an outspoken and strong-willed woman with a great sense of humor. She will be remembered for her ability to make others laugh. Above all else, she loved her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother "wela", great grandmother, sister, and tia. She was Catholic.

She is survived by three daughters, Norma Perez of Littlefield, Lena Zapata of Lubbock, and Teresa Contreras of San Antonio; two sons, Oscar Zapata and wife, Lola of Littlefield, and Rene Zapata of Lubbock; nine grandchildren, OJ Zapata and wife, Mandy of Littlefield, Sabrina Zuniga and husband, Alan of Lubbock, Kevin Zapata and wife, Alyssa of Lubbock, Alethea Ramirez and husband, Jesus of Lubbock, Brooke Zapata and husband, Jaime Munoz of Lubbock, Amber Rodriguez of Lubbock, Justin Perez of Lubbock, Brittany Leal and husband, Robert of San Antonio, and Jaron Contreras of San Antonio; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Tina Davila of San Antonio, Lupe Guajardo of Amarillo, and Melinda Martinez of Lubbock; one brother, Roel Zapata of Channing; and numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Montemayor; two great grandchildren Emma Zapata and Julius Ramirez; her parents, Antonio and Paula Zapata; four sisters, Estella Gallegos, Elia Gonzales, Debbie Hernandez, and Margie Franco. She was well loved and will be deeply missed by everyone.

Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield. Father Jim McCartney will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Amherst, Texas. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
