She was the youngest of six children. A member of First Baptist Church in Olton, TX, where she and Denver Offield raised their family.

Dorothy made every holiday special for all her family by decorating her home for each season. One of her favorite activities at Christmas was to color in coloring books and have all the kids join her. One of her calling cards if she came to visit someone and they weren't home was to turn their living room furniture upside down.

In her younger years Dorothy enjoyed baking, participating in The Olton Home Demonstration Club, attending the kid's school activities, playing dominoes and card games, singing in the church choir and square dancing. She owned and operated Dorothy's Place on Main Street in Olton, which fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a soda fountain shop. Some of her hobbies in her latter years included reading, listening to music, crocheting, watching the Texas Rangers play and talking on the telephone. She loved people and never met a stranger. Her presence will be missed and her memory will be cherished by those she leaves behind.

The family would love to invite everyone to a visitation at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, TX on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Olton Cemetery in Olton, TX on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
