Dorma Nell Weaver passed into Heaven on June 10, 2022 while residing at Harmonee House in Amherst, Texas. She was born on July 16, 1934 in Brownfield, the second child to George and Leta (Hulse) Jenkins.

Known as "Tookie" she was very close to and spent time with her extended Jenkins and Hulse families during her younger and later years. While growing up she attended school in Brownfield, Meadow, & Muleshoe. Her junior year of high school, the family moved to Amherst and operated the laundry. She met the "love of her life" W.T. Weaver, Jr. a hometown, handsome young farmer on a blind date arranged by her friend and cousin Margie (and her beau Jomeryl). On December 24, 1950 they married and she graduated from AHS in May 1951. Amherst became home and she came to love and appreciate T's family as her own.

Over a few years, three daughters were born so she was quite busy as a homemaker, farmer's wife, and a supportive mother in each girl's school and church activities. She was a strong and faithful Christian, an active member of the Amherst First Methodist Church, UMW, a Sunday School and VBS teacher. She was a Worker, believing and practicing you finish what you start and cleanliness is next to Godliness. She was meticulous in the most minute details. She enjoyed sewing her daughters clothes, fixing hair, working in the yard, joining friends and extended family for meals, and shopping. Talents included decorating their home and cooking. Her grandsons and sons-in-law raved about her chicken fried steak, enchiladas, holiday turkey and dressing or ham, the variety of desserts, and especially about those huge, homemade lighter than air dinner rolls. Any leftovers were anticipated and relished just the same.

Attendance at extended family, church, and local events, support of charities and the Lamb County Library were all priorities. Working crossword puzzles and reading were favorite pastimes during rest time. Later years found her employed at the Amherst School, the business office of South Plains Hospital, then working income tax returns for H&R Block while starting the career of Grandma. She was always smiling and caring, sweet, strong (and opinionated) with their hearts too. She likely never felt like an empty nester but probably never wanted to be one anyway.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell her parents and her husband, of nearly 63 years.

Surviving children are, Darlene and Wes Hennigh, Linda Weaver, and Lana and Jeff Robinson; grandchildren, Anthony Booth, Brock and Kelly Hennigh, and Houston and Heather Hennigh; great-grandchildren, McKenna Booth, and Walker and Franklin Hennigh; a sister Dixie, two; brothers, Dale and David; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Amherst First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ted Wilson officiating.

A deep heartfelt appreciation goes to the Staff at Harmonee House for the care and love they gave, and to the many Friends and Family who visited, made her smile, and laugh. Thanks to Hillcrest for the personal service provided. Memorials are encouraged to the First United Methodist Church or UMW at Amherst, or Amherst Cemetery.
