Danny Melvin Mears, 69, lifelong resident of Littlefield, entered into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in Littlefield. He was born May 1, 1954 to Melvin and Vondee (Hardin) Mears.

Danny graduated from Littlefield High School in 1972. He married Debbe Oliver May 24, 1974 in Hart Camp. The couple settled in Lamb County where they raised their family and farmed. Danny lived and breathed farming, he was proud of his agriculture roots of multigenerational farmers. He also loved antique tractors. Danny was a problem solver, he could fix or build anything. The rare moments he wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed fishing at the coast in Port Aransas, or with his family. He loved his family more than anything, especially being a "Papa". Danny always took care of his family and was the rock they all leaned on. He was hardheaded and onery but had a heart of gold. He especially had a soft spot in his heart for his dog, Sally.

Danny is survived by is wife, Debbe Mears of Littlefield; two daughters, Cynthia Aguirre and husband, Steven of Lubbock and Andrea Noreen and husband, Phil of Belgrade, Montana; five grandchildren, Mackenzie De Los Santos of Corpus Christi, Danny De Los Santos and Jordan Aguirre both of Lubbock, Hali Hayes and Clayton Noreen both of Belgrade, Montana; his father, Melvin Mears of Littlefield; three sisters, Vickie Driskell and husband, Mark of Littlefield, Loretta Armistead and husband, Alan of Nutrioso, Arizona and Paula Willis and husband, Randy of Whiteface, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vondee Mears. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Littlefield Memorial Park with Mike Kelly officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Steven Aguirre, Phil Noreen, Danny De Los Santos, Justin Benton, Robbie Adams, and Matthew Jephcott officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Littlefield EMS (PO Box 1167, Littlefield, TX 79339) or Levelland Animal Shelter (109 Commerce Dr., Levelland TX 79336). Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
