Graveside service for Clarence Johnson, 92, of Littlefield, who died Wednesday, May 6, 2020, was held Monday, May 11, 2020 in Littlefield Cemetery, with Pastor Frank Ingram, presiding, and McCarty Funeral Home of Littlefield in charge of arrangements.
Clarence was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Grandfield, OK, to Andrew and Josephine Johnson.
He served his country in the United States Army. He married Ella Mae Johnson on May 4, 1959, with whom they raised a family in Littlefield for more than 64 years, prior to her death.
During their marriage, Johnson owned and operated several businesses, including a barbecue food truck and a handyman service, to support his family.
Johnson was a faithful member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Littlefield, where he served as an ordained deacon, a mentor and a respected elder in the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Josephine Johnson; six brothers and three sisters; his wife, Ella Mae Johnson; his son, Melvin Johnson; and his grandson.
Surviving are his daughter, Jewel Jones of Oklahoma City, OK; his adopted children, Pastor Frank and Kathleen Ingram of Littlefield; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many more relatives and friends.
