Christopher Alonzo Eady, age 77, of Lubbock passed away on November 15, 2022, at Covenant Medical Center.

Chris Eady was born on October 6, 1945, in Newport, Arkansas to L.B. and Dorothy "Phoebe" Eady. The family settled in Amherst, Texas and Chris attended 1st- 12th grade there. A 2nd grade teacher taught Chris a love of reading and he read well over 10,000 books through his life.

Chris served in the US Army from 1968 to 1970. He was a beloved friend, uncle, brother, son, father, and grandfather. Chris was affectionately nicknamed "Big Dog" by his granddaughter when she learned to talk. He was the best friend of Jessica Eady and the two were inseparable from the time she was born until the time he passed away.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Debra Jan Burk; his father, LB Eady; his mother Dorothy "Phoebe" Eady; and his son, Christopher Todd Eady.

Chris is survived by his son, Jeffrey Shane Eady of Littleton, Colorado; his grandson, Nicholas Todd Eady of Kingsland, Texas; his granddaughter, Jessica Lea Parrish and husband, Trey of Lubbock; his brother, James Douglas Eady of Pennsylvania; his sister, Judy Angela Rountree and husband, Daryl of San Antonio; and several nieces and nephews.

Chris will always be remembered for his unconditional love of his children and grandchildren, his keen sense of humor, dashing good looks and his cowboy ways. He will never be forgotten.

A Memorial Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
