Carlton R. Parker, 83, of Lebanon, TN formerly of Littlefield, Texas, passed away January 1, 2023 in Lebanon. He was born December 18, 1939 in Anton, Texas to Monroe Parker and Floy Rose (Shepperd) Parker.
Carlton graduated from Anton High School with the class of 1959. After graduation, he proudly served his county as a member of the United States Army. He married Marilyn Douglas, and the couple had three children. After discharge from the Army, Carlton was a school business manager for 42 years, 31 of those being for Littlefield ISD. He retired in May of 2005. He married Jane Cunningham Ball on December 22, 2004 in Littlefield, and the couple later moved to Tennessee, where he was residing at his passing. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, and jewelry making. He liked to collect coins and gave each of his grandchildren a complete set of US Minted quarters. He also was an avid collector of knives and guns. Carlton was a great provider for his family and was a kind and loving man. He was generous and always willing to help others. He was a hard worker and dependable.
Carlton is survived by his wife, Jane Parker of Lebanon, TN; two sons, Mark D. Parker and wife, Myriam of Round Rock, TX and Brian C. Parker of Littlefield; four grandchildren, Thomas Parker, Lacie Bauman, Aileen Hatch and husband, Royce, and Joshua Parker; four great grandchildren, Nevaeh Bauman, Savannah Bauman, Olivia Bauman and Zane Parker; two step children, Rene' Avery and husband, Tracy of Hot Springs Village, AR and Jason Ball and wife, Carolyn of Long Beach, MS; six step grandchildren, Cal Avery, Caitlin Jaeger and husband, Kevin, E.J. Avery. Jade Avery, Kendal Roby and husband, Brandon, and Logan Keener and husband, Austin; two step great grandchildren, Lucah Roby and Gabrielle Keener; a brother, Mac Parker of Round Rock, TX; and other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Parker; his parents; a sister, Patsey Parker; and two brothers, James Parker and Timothy Parker.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday January 6, 2023 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield with Pastor Tanner Wilson officiating. Interment followed in Anton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Joshua Parker, Scott Parker, Royce Hatch, Alan Hettler, Aileen Hatch and Paxton Hettler. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
