Boyd Lowery, age 93, died Thursday, January 10, 2025 at Amherst, Lamb County, TX. He was born August 26, 1931 in Erath County, Texas to Dick and Flora Lowery. Boyd had eight siblings, Dr. W. B. Lowery, Gene Lowery, a twin brother, Loyd, sisters, Aileen, Virginia and Goldie, and brothers, Rex and Glen.
Boyd married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Clayton, on December 8, 1949. From this union they had two children, Vickie and Sherry while living north of Muleshoe, Texas, where they farmed until 1961. From there they moved to Wanda's family farm north of Earth, Texas and farmed there until her sudden death in 1982.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he was known for his strong faith and shared that with many others. From 1950 he served in Congregations in Clovis NM, Muleshoe TX and Rogers, AR. He was rarely missing from services, attending in person and via Zoom during the pandemic and his condition. In fact, he was present on Tuesday night before his passing Thursday morning. He still spoke to others about his Bible based beliefs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda in 1982; his daughter, Sherry in 1989; a son-in-law, Derk in 1993; also siblings, W. B. (Boyce), Gene, Loyd, Aileen, Goldie, and Rex.
In 1983 he was blessed by his marriage to Louella Loncarich, of Rogers, AR. This produced his bonus family of one son and three daughters, six much loved grandchildren and extended family. Louella preceded him in death in May 2023. At that time he returned to Earth, and lived with his daughter, Vickie Tiffin (Jack) until his passing.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Tiffin (Jack), of Earth, TX; Grandchildren, Tiffany Rogers (Paul), of San Diego, CA, Kami Hamblin (Ryan), of Frisco TX, and Clayton Tiffin (Danielle) of Lubbock, TX; Great Grandchildren, Taylor and Harper Hamblin, of Frisco, TX, Jade and Jude Tiffin, of Lubbock TX and Bonus Arkansas family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
