Boyd Goen was born July 1, 1932, to John and Hiva Goen of Anton. He passed away on Nov. 7, 2024, at the age of 92.
Boyd graduated from Anton High School in 1950 and served in the Navy from 1954 to 1956. He married Ann Johnson Williams (a widow) on Feb. 17, 1957 and became father to her three small children.
Boyd’s organizational and management skills proved to be valuable assets in multiple industries such as lumber, construction and automotive. While working a fulltime job, he was a leader in his community of Anton serving as a deacon in his church and a member of the school board. Boyd was talented in working with his hands, from building furniture to repairing rent houses. In his spare time, he loved flying his airplane.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers; his wife, Ann Goen, and his grandson.
He is survived by his sisters; daughter in-law; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and great-great granddaughter.
