Barbara Jeanette Faulkenberry Hadaway, beloved sister, aunt, and friend died on March 13, 2023, at age 86.

She is preceded in death by her father, William C. Faulkenberry; mother, Lucille Avary Faulkenberry; and both sets of grandparents, Joel Ross and Emma Mills Faulkenberry and Samuel Newton and Myrtle Franks Avary.

Jeanette was born to William Charlie and Lucille Avary Faulkenberry in Childress County, Texas, on December 23, 1936. She moved to Terry County, Texas, at the age of eight and grew up on a cotton farm in the Willow Wells community. She graduated from Seagraves High School where she was an honor student and active in band and student affairs. Jeanette earned degrees from West Texas State College and Texas Tech University. She was a lifelong educator-a teacher of homemaking and kindergarten and a counselor. She lived a life of service and charity to others A lady of grace and charm, she was emulated and loved by many. Jeanette married Jimmy Douglas Hadaway, son of Jack and Ida Mae Teel on December 28, 1958, in First Baptist Church of Seagraves.

The memorial service was held Saturday morning, March 18, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Seagraves. Interment followed at the Seagraves Gaines County Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ratliff Funeral Home.
