Church service for Barbara A. Gonzales, age 59, of Sudan, Texas, is pending at First Baptist Church in Sudan with Mike Woods of Sudan officiating. Barbara died Monday, October 24, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born June 2, 1963 in Muleshoe, Texas to Ysidro and Velia (Lopez) Gonzales.
Barbara was a volunteer at the Food Pantry as well as a volunteer at Shelby's Bridge in Sudan. She made an amazing carne guisada and liked eating potato salad. She loved to decorate for the holidays and collecting knickknacks. Barbara enjoyed watching soap operas and Lifetime movies. She also liked to go on walks. Barbara adored being a grandma, and her family was her pride and joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Raymond Cantu and Jerry Garza.
Barbara is survived by her son, Angel (Adrian) Gonzales of Lubbock, Texas; her three daughters, Monica Gonzales of Sudan, Texas, Chelsea Gonzales and her son-in-law, Brandon Hernandez of Littlefield, Texas and Jeaney Mendoza of Amherst, Texas; her two sisters, Celia Garza of Sudan, Texas and Lydia Nipper of Alvarado, Texas; her brother, John Garza and his wife, Linda of Sudan, Texas; her granddaughter, Analeigh Hernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
