Alta “MamMaw” Kirby

Alta “MamMaw” Kirby, 100, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in Littlefield. She was born Jan. 29, 1920 in Goree, TX to J.D. and Flora Baker. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday.

Alta married Dink “PapPa” Kirby on March 11, 1937 in Clovis, NM. She was a phenomenal seamstress and could make anything.

Alta is survived by her three daughters, Melba Rose of Olton, Sharon Adams and Judy Adams both of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Clay Rose, Carla Romero, Kim Rose, Darla Hunley, Stacy Adams, Sharla Hurley, and Kirby Adams; fifteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dink; her parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

Celebration of Life Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2020 at Grace Chapel with Pastor Janet Edwards and Gary Hughes officiating. Interment followed in Littlefield Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.

Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Adams, Scooter Abram, Doug Abram, Dusty Rose, Rene Galan, Sammy Hunley, Bryan Adams, and Randy Martin.
