In Loving Memory Of
Aug. 2, 1940 ~ Sept. 14, 2023
Marylee Kathryn Shields, 83 of Littlefield entered into the gates of Heaven Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was born August 2, 1940 in Yuba City, California to Harvey Van White and Hazel Blanche (Olds) White.
Marylee graduated from Emmett High School in 1958. She married her sweetheart, Rodney Shields on June 14, 1958 in Emmett, Idaho. The couple then moved to Rock Island, Illinois, and attended the first college classes of Bible Missionary Institute. After graduation, they began their many years of service of ministry in the Bible Missionary Church. They were called to lead in many churches in West Virginia, Ohio, Washington, California, Iowa, Illinois, Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas. In 1985, they began Foreign Mission service in the Philippines, Guyana South America, St. Vincent, Barbados, West Indies and Papua New Guinea, serving until 1994. They then returned to the USA, where they continued to minister and spread the love of the Lord to many. Marylee was a strong prayer warrior, who never quit praying for family, friends and even strangers in need. She instilled the importance and power of prayer into each of her children and taught them by example how to live a life with a personal relationship with God. She listened to the Lord as He spoke to her and was a bold and faithful servant to follow through when she was called to serve. She was a caretaker, always worried about others before herself, and a giver at heart. Marylee loved to give gifts to her family and friends, and she never missed a birthday or an important life event.
Waiting for her in Heaven was her husband, Rev. Rodney Shields who passed December 20, 2020; her parents; a brother, Dwain White; and a great-grandson, Wesley Dwain Shields.
She is survived by her five children, Kathryn Zink, Bryan (Linda) Shields, Gregory (Rachel) Shields, Douglas (Ramona) Shields, and Christine (Roger) McCasland; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Searls.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
