Alice Norried, 88, of Littlefield passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Lubbock. She was born June 28, 1934, in Hale Center, Texas to Virgil William 'Bud' Eslinger and Bonnie Gage Eslinger. She married 'Conal' Hoover Norried on January 20, 1956, in Littlefield.
Alice was a happy homemaker; family was her life. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, when she could no longer attend in person, she watched faithfully on TV. In the summer she spent many a day canning whatever they picked from the gardens. She was known for her friendly outgoing personality and never met a stranger. When she met her husband Conal it was love at first sight for both of them. They were married forty years. She loved being home and taking care of her family. She was a great cook, a great seamstress and a true friend. She was Cyndi's best friend and often drag main with her and Sherra Don with the seat back so no one would see her. She was Lucy and Cyndi was her Ethel, there was never a dull moment! She loved being a grandma, going to all their school activities, but when her 3 great grands came along Pepper, Poppy, and Radek, they became her greatest joy!
Alice Norried is survived by two daughters, Connie Smith of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Cyndi Mills of Littlefield; five grandchildren, Jared Smith of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Christopher Smith of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Charlie Smith of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Dustan Dukatnik of Littlefield and Chasity Demel of Littlefield; seven great grandchildren, Shelby Smith, Jordan Smith, Ivy Smith, Jackson Smith, Pepper Dukatnik, Radek Dukatnik, and Poppy Demel.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Eslinger; a grandson, Jason Smith; and her parents, Virgil William 'Bud' Eslinger and Bonnie Gage Eslinger.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday April 15, 2023 at Grace Chapel with Jay Macha officiating. Interment followed in Littlefield Memorial Park cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Dustan Dukatnik, Johnathan Elliott, Britt Eslinger, Nicholas Demel, Scott Gage, and Charlie 'Bear' Smith. Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
