Oct. 22, 1962 - May 1, 2022
Connie Ann Perez, 59, of New Braunfels, Texas formerly Littlefield left this life for her eternal home Sunday, May 1, 2022 with her loved ones by her side. It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle with cancer because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was she was determined to keep going, not only for herself but for her family also.
Connie was born October 22, 1962 in Amherst, Texas to Ramon and Maria Gonzalez. She married her high school sweetheart Ismail Perez, Jr. October 13, 1982 and loved him beyond measure. Connie and Ismail raised their three boys, Isaac, Isaiah, and Ivan in Littlefield until 2004 when they relocated to New Braunfels, Texas. She had recently retired after working for the Department of Child Protective Services for 30 years.
She was a devoted wife and mother and loved being a Grandma. Connie made a positive impact on so many people's lives. Anyone that knew her will say that she had a servant's heart and speak of her kindness. She was known for being a motherly figure to those around her. At any gathering she could always be found in the kitchen cooking and making sure everyone had what they needed. She was a remarkable mom and loved her boys unconditionally. When her boys were growing up she never missed any of their school or extracurricular events. Once they grew up she continued to do the same for other family members. She always had a love for children especially babies and if ever there was a baby around you could find her holding them. Her love for children was especially evident with her grandchildren. She was so full of joy when she became a grandma and loved every minute she spent with each of them.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of almost 40 years, Ismail Perez, Jr.; three sons, Isaac Perez and wife, Janette of Murrieta, CA., Isaiah Perez of New Braunfels, Texas, and Ivan Perez and husband, Lance Rocha of New Braunfels, Texas; three grandchildren, Abel Perez, Karina Perez, and Alizzeyah Malto; two sisters, Rose Mary Gonzalez and Deborah Seip; one brother, Ramon Gonzalez Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Awaiting her at the gates of Heaven were her parents, Maria and Ramon Gonzalez; maternal grandparents, Herlinda and Antonio Hernandez; and paternal grandparents, Maria and Ambrosio Gonzalez.
Funeral mass was at 11:00 a.m., Friday May 6, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield with Father Angelo Consemino officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Isaac Perez, Isaiah Perez, Tony Hernandez, Madden Tenorio, Zach Alvarado, and Jonathan Vargas. Honorary pallbearer was Abel Perez. Rosary was recited Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
The family would like to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers for Connie and her family during her illness.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
