Billy Henry “Bill” Brandt, age 83 of Springdale, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born April 18, 1938, in Littlefield, Texas to Ernest John and Ruth Bernece (Goertz) Brandt.
Bill graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from Texas Tech University. He began farming in Friona, Texas in 1961 and then moved to Springdale in 1972 where he returned to civil engineering. Farming and ranching were always important to Bill, and in Arkansas he continued to run cattle and pursue his enthusiasm for John Deere tractors. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and trips to their mountain retreat in Westcliffe, Colorado. He had a deep love and appreciation for America.
Bill was an active member and elder of Salem Lutheran Church for many years. He loved the Lord and strived to be a faithful steward of the things he was blessed with. He was also a member of The Gideons International. His joy was to distribute Bibles on school and college campuses. Bill was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie (Wagner) Brandt; three children, Kelley Davis and husband, Mark, Kim Simco and husband, Brian, all of Springdale, and Keith Brandt and wife, Sherry of Corinth, Texas; three sisters, Betty Peterschmidt of Victoria, Texas, Jane Brandt of Anacortes, Washington, Pam Kennedy and husband, Bruce of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren, Matthew Davis and wife, Jessica, Chase Davis and wife, Roxy, Elizabeth Hicks and husband, Bradley, Emily Kate Beyer and husband, Nick, Kari Beth High and husband, Aaron, Christopher Simco and wife, Lauren, Rachel Brandt, Garrison Brandt; and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale, Arkansas with a reception and visitation to follow.
