South Plains College announces United gift to Culinary Arts Dept

LUBBOCK--South Plains College hosted a press conference Wednesday morning, March 7, to announce a gift for the Culinary Arts Program.

The United Family® has granted South Plains College $750,000 to support the program. The grant from United Supermarkets establishes a $250,000 scholarship endowment to provide financial assistance to students in the program. The remaining $500,000 is dedicated to the facility renovations that will result in a state-ofthe- art culinary instructional space.

“We are very appreciative of the ongoing partnership we have with United Supermarkets. This support helps South Plains College better serve the educational and workforce needs of Lubbock,” said Dr. Robin Satterwhite, SPC president.
