County Commissioners hold regular meeting Dec. 28

Tuesday, Dec. 28 2021, Lamb County Commissioners convened in Regular Session in the Lamb County Courthouse, at Littlefield.

Presiding was Lamb County Judge James M. DeLoach, while the other officers who particpated in the busiess were present; Including Cory DeBerry. Precinct 1 commissioner; Kent Lewis, Precinct 2 commissioner; Danny Short, Precinct 3 commissioner; Lee Logan, Precinct 4 commissioner; amd Tonya Ritchie, county clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the Commissioners Court.

ORDER NO. 1: Judge James M. DeLoach called the meeting to order.

ORDER NO. 2: There was no one who wanted to make a Public Comment on tht agenda. (3 minutes max)

ORDER NO. 3: A Motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry to approve the consent agenda items. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

Included were:

(a) Consider and take appropriate action on minutes from previous meeting(s); Regular Meeting, Dec. 13, 2021

(b) Consider and take appropriate action on budget and salary amendments and/or line item transfers; None

(c) Consider and take appropriate action on bills presented by the County Auditor; Rene Trevino

(d) Consider and take appropriate action on payroll; Jerry Yarbrough

(e) Consider and take appropriate action on departmental reports, in Packet

ORDER NO 4: Consider and take appropriate action on Order to Confirm Election Precincts following the Redistricting of the Commissioners Court pursuant to Chapter 42, Texas Elections Code, and any resulting changes that may have an impact upon the Justice of the Peace Precincts.

Motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve the Order to Confirm Election Precincts following the Redistricting of the Commissioners Court pursuant to Chapter 42, Texas Elections Code, and any resulting changes that may have an impact upon the Justice of the Peace Precincts. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 5: Consider and take appropriate action on Tax Deed R21123;

Motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry to approve action on Tax Deed R21123. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 6: Consider and take appropriate action to accept the recommendation of Texas A&M Agri Life Extension to appoint a new Ag Agent for Lamb County and set county’s contribution to salary; Motion was made by Commis

Motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Lee Logan to approve the recommendation of Texas A&M Agri Life Extension to appoint a new Ag Agent, Brandon Albus for Lamb County and set county’s contribution to salary at $14,796.60. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 7: Consider and take appropriate action to accept the Bond for Lamb County Tax Assessor Collector;

Motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve action to accept the Bond for Lamb County Tax Assessor Collector. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 8: Consider and take appropriate action to adopt Lamb County’s CDL & Alcohol Policy;

Motion was made by Commissioner Cory DeBerry and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve action to adopt Lamb County’s CDL & Alcohol Policy. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 9: Consider and approve Employee Handbook Changes;

Motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Cory DeBerry to approve Employee Handbook Changes. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.

ORDER NO 10: Consider and take appropriate action to adopt Lamb County Accident Prevention Policy;

No Action taken.

ORDER NO 11: Consider and take appropriate action to adopt Safety Committee and Charter Resolution;

No Action taken.

ORDER NO 12: Extension Office 4-H Presentation;

Kendra Callahan played a presentation from Lydia Burt.

Several 4-H participants gave Thank you speeches.

4-H Participants gave gifts to each Commissioner and the Judge.

ORDER NO 13: Discuss Lamb Healthcare Center operations;

Cindy Pope gave a report on Lamb Healthcare Center operations.

ORDER NO 14: Future agenda items were discussed.

ORDER NO 15: There being no further business to come before this Commissioners Court, a motion was made by Commissioner Lee Logan and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to adjourn. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.
