Juanell Bryant

Jan. 18, 1938 ~ Dec. 25, 2021

Juanell Bryant was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She went on to her heavenly home on Dec. 25, 2021, for a Christmas celebration with her Savior and loved ones there.

Juanell was born to L.D. and Ann Culbert on Jan. 18, 1938, in Brownfield, TX. They lived in different places across West Texas before settling in Littlefield when she was in junior high school. She fell for Duane Bryant, and they were married on Sept.10, 1954, in Clovis, NM. They began a partnership in a trucking business and farming, living on the family farm in Fieldton.

Juanell wanted nothing more in life than to be a mother, and she was blessed with four wonderful children—Anita, Darral, Donna, and Michael—that she and Duane raised in the Littlefield and Amherst area. The simple life she loved included cooking, canning, sewing, and caring for her family. They returned to Fieldton on their own farm in 1978, and she lived there until after Duane’s death in 1991. She moved back to Littlefield in 1997. She loved working at Speck Gin and with the friends she made at Lowe’s business offices.

In her retirement, Juanell settled into spoiling her many grand-children and taught them valuable lessons in playing Skip-Bo, enjoying a good well done hamburger, and always holding out for dessert. As her family grew, she loved nothing more than long visits in person or by phone, and she made each person feel like the most special one.

She was preceded in death by Duane; her parents; her in-laws, D.H and Jewell Bryant; her sister, Nita Houston; her son-in-law, Bo Jennings; and her beloved grandso, Justin Jennings.

Her legacy will live on through her family remaining: daughter, Anita Hebert and Troy of Shallowater; son, Darral Bryant and Tonya of Weatherford; daughter, Donna Jennings of Whiteface; and son, Michael Bryant and LeeAnn of Anton; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren—Erika and Landon Sims, Adalyn and Brody; Erin and Jonathon Whedbee, Eden, Jordan, and Charlette; Elizabeth and Samuel Gonzales, Sophia and Solomon; Jared Powers, Matt Hebert, Sela and Jarek Black, Avery Bryant, Mason Bryant, Rae Lynn Jennings, Zachary Jennings, and Justin’s daughters, Hadlie and Hayden Jennings and their sister Huntley Poole.

She also held a very special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews and dear cousins.
